Data protection/appropriation of funds

The Foundation for the Renovation of the Barracks of the Papal Swiss Guard in the Vatican (hereinafter: the Foundation) offers the following online payment options for donations: common credit cards and e-banking (IBAN CH16 0027 9279 3181 5202 U). The transmission of data is encrypted. The Foundation itself does not store any card data; your payment data is sent directly via Payrexx, a partner certified by the credit card industry (PCI DSS). Our service providers and employees may only use the information to perform their duties and are obliged to comply with Swiss data protection regulations.The Foundation itself collects personal data on the basis of donations made in an internal database. This database is only used for the purposes of the Foundation. The data will only be stored for as long as the purpose requires.

You can deduct your donation from your taxable income in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Act on Direct Federal Tax and the cantonal tax laws of your canton of residence. The donations will be used for the renovation and construction of the barracks of the Papal Swiss Guard in the Vatican and related expenses. If, contrary to current expectations, a decision by the Vatican State means that the project is not realized, or if the Foundation’s assets not be completely used up after the successful completion of the construction project, the Foundation’s assets available at that time will be transferred to the Foundation of the Papal Swiss Guard in the Vatican after payment of the costs incurred in connection with the project. As that foundation is also tax-exempt, your donation remains tax-deductible in accordance with the statutory provisions even after any transfer of assets.
